The Best Of Both Worlds.

This phrase applies to me to a great extent. I shall Elaborate later. In every aspect of life, this is my life. I have the best of both worlds.

  • I get along well with mostly everybody.
I mean I don't have a problem with anybody.Yes, I dislike some things in people,I don't hate the people themselves.I don't completely fit in any category. And that makes me special.I flit in and out with ease through both worlds.Sometimes Its hard.
Basically the point is, A and C might hate each other. But I am B. I get the best of both. I like both. Both are a part of my life. Both (obviously) have drawbacks. But I'm lucky.
  • I get to see the different facets of life.
I don't really know how to elaborate on this.I have seen extreme poverty as well as extreme affluence.I believe I am in the middle.I get to see both. It's a safe place.I get to know about people, stories of human kindness, cruelty, wickedness, love, desire, hatred. it's a complex world.I'm happy to know, to understand more, to hear about "Reality"..

I'm too sleepy to make any more sense....

I don't know when I'm going to blog again. Sayonara....No, Hasta La Vista......

Good Night.(Anusha?)

Garuda Girls.

Note: Internet speed is crappy now.

25th March 2011

It started out well after a little confusion about the MoT (mode of transportation). Dad was dropping rachana and me to Jayanagar. At the bus stand I aw Sumana walking with some other girl. She looked good too.Slowly, It hit us.It was Neha! She'd got a haircut the previous day.The change was Remarkable!

Soon Akshata arrived and after a short chat we decided to breakfast at Dosa camp (It has a new name.I don't remember, Ganesh darshan huh?) I wasn't hungry so after some of us had some food we walked back to the bus stand. Now finding the right bus was quite a confusion and after much ado and a strawberry Milk shake we got into a bus.
I was busy eavesdropping in the bus while Ananya was hovering around.Soon,we reached M.G.Road and walked a bit. After following a traffic policeman's instruction that "The Garuda" is the first building, we reached our Destination!

We first entered Westside and believe me, It looks really awkward when 12 girls troop into a store without the least inclination to buy anything (And that expression written on all 12 faces). I BADLY wanted to execute my plan but not at the cost of my sanity. So I sadly moved on.Shopper's Stop had good dresses and after that twas CrossWord!

I knew I wanted to buy something. And I wanted to buy good ones.So I didn't bother about anybody and was lost in a trance finding the right book. After a lot of mulling over and pondering over the cost, I purchased "Time Stops At Shamli and Other Sories" - Ruskin Bond and "Gently Falls The Bakula"-Sudha Murty.( Incidentally, I've finished reading both!)
Of Course, we got dirty looks from the dirty woman there for un-sophisticated behavior.

Then It was time for Khana! Rach and I ate at Beijing Bites and had a pretty good meal. The rest mostly ate North Indian (Veg By Nature) and Pizza. Soon after, i splurged on a Hot Chocolate Fudge (Yum!). Oh and we had a real good photo session as well. (I finally got a good pic with Mani)

After this was the (un)Scary House. Just as we (Dhruti didn't come) were about to enter, a man (and presumably his wife) came out looking rather terrified and said "Don't go! Don't go!". i was a bit nervous. The last time I had gone was with dad so i was braver. With friends, I didn't know what to expect. Also I was leading (With rach..)

We entered and a loud sound objected our entry.Immediately the air was filled with hysterical screams. Suddenly I heard Aks say," I lost my slipper!" .Poor girl ahd to walk there  without it. Rach and I kept a constant chatter filled with inane rubbish like "Hee hee Hee hee Hee", " Calm Down! It's just a joke!". Yeah, Skulls, Corpses and other such rubbish punctuated by unearthly wails or cackles. Somehow we got through and reached the end.At this point, Apparently, a body rose and this frightened those behind me to push frantically resulting in me stumbling out of the depressing building. My right leg ached a lil but soon it was fine. It was Nothing great.I wish Dee had come. Maybe it was a lil fun, after all.Nothing great but.

Next was The Mirror Maze and this was not bad. We took longer here.A bunch of younger girls screamed about for everything and this rather spoilt the  experience. The stretch after this was really pretty. We walked out casually much to the surprise of the onlookers.(Neha wanted to capture my horrified expression but that never existed.

Amoeba was awesome! We enjoyed with the hammer game and got snickers from our winnings. It was a laugh riot and an exhilarating experience.

Soon, it was time to go.We got out of the mall and clicked pictures again. Again we were confused how to go back. After what seemed like several hours we began walking.I suddenly began to see several Herbalife Advertisments.I looked around and saw the office.I saw and i10.I saw Ma! I called her.
She:Where are you?
Me:I'm behind you.
She (Looks Around): Oh!!!!
Expression=Priceless!

After this we proceeded to the bus stand got into one and got down at Jayadeva.I was tired and my feet were aching. After another bus ride we reached Jayanagar.Had a Slice and said Bai and each went their way.

Rach and I walked to her Dad's office. We sat and texted each other and I additionally killed mosquitos.Drizzled a bit. Spoke a little bit.Texted a little bit more.
Met dad on the way and got dropped home.Sat at home and read 3 things. Nearly Cried.

In Limbo.

I just Finished My Board Exam.
I couldn't Be Happier.

Now for some Serious Blogging.
Since when Haven't I blogged Soulfully?
I'll Say December.

December 2010
Was Eventful. *Scratches Head to Remember what Happened*
Before That Of Course, We Had School day. And that was nice (not the programmes, YUCK!). And How Did We Go? Some Of  us car, rest I forgot. We Had fun. Vidhathri was our in-house photographer. Food was good. My whims and fancies were not satisfied. So I went home hungry.

(Note to self : Stop Giving SO much importance to casing! )

Moving On, December I was busy with Babysitting and Studying. It was an emo-taxing month. I aced it. And Yes! I saw a real Live Fire!
31st Dec 2010
Divya And Me playing in the room when I here a loud Sound. We ignore it. I see smoke wafting through the open front door and think "OK, That's Odd.". Then the rest of the family noticed this. Mama went down to see what was wrong and immediately rushed up saying that there was a fire. Panic. Excitement (Me: Duh!). Tension. Fear. You get it. So then, Mama and rushed down with Divya in my arms. (That kiddo was lovin' the excitement!) Then we screamed for Atthe to rush down in whatever she was wearing. As we rushed down,  thick black smoke was emanating from the switch board. After everybody was safe downstairs, they poured water  and the fire was extinguished easily. (Later we got to know that the neighbors had a fire extinguisher. For What Joy?)
After that began the arduous process of changing the wiring in the entire house. And that was december.

January 2011
2nd Preparatory began and sadly I had an exam on my birthday. Nothin Much, except that we went our for dinner. (Probably the Lamest birthday Ever.) And not many people even remembered. 25th Jan wasn't a day I would like to remember. And my foolish dreams never came true. :( Did I cry that day? Maybe. I had Computer Exam. 'Twas a sad way to welcome 17.
A few days after this we shifted again. And I'm happy here.(So-so)
After 2nd preparatory there wasn't much. Except that we had holidays to prepare for Boards.

February 2011
  • Fantasizing about holidays.
  • Wondering what to blog.
  • Studying.
Graduation was nice. And I loved the Van trip back to school. I won't forget that. Slowly, somewhere the sinking feeling that "we're going to separate" began. I didn't cry. I sat on a duck. I loved the day. I wish it had never ended.

Last day of school was another hilarious outing. Oh Yes, Pooja was going on....

I'll blog later. must Babysit and cook and become a domestic Idiot.

11:49 PM

I'm back. And I neither cooked or cleaned. :P Went and sat in M.N. Krishna Rao Park and observed birds (both varieties) and played with Guddi.

Also I forgot that December was a great month for one thing.
I really enjoyed my time with Divya (Although I moaned and groaned about it!) I still remember the night when I found the whole set up hard to bear and I had Anusha to give me a few comforting words. (I had complained that i had got only 6 hours of Sleep... Now, that seems so much!)
January was not that Bad as i made it out to be either. I mean I had Fishes (Yeah we got an aquarium) and Books for company.
Latest Books Read:

  1. Jo's Boys :Louisa May Alcott
  2. Rusty: Ruskin Bond
  3. All Roads Lead to Ganga: Ruskin Bond
  4. Another Ruskin Bond Book

  7. 3 mistakes of my life
  8. 5 point someone
  9. Oh Baby! (Again!)
  10. That Book by Kamala Markandeya (forgot the name, not the story..)
Yes, not bad.But nothing great either.I'm gonna buy books this summer (As Usual)

Grad was great actually. I know I'll look back and miss that day like hell.I guess that happens to everybody. We need to adapt, acclimatize to new situations. Which is why I agree with Chandana Ma'am that I'm perspicacious. True, I was initially hesitant to look it up in the dictionary.I believe I deserve that. That's my strength. Not my weakness.

This whole year has been a great journey.
Here's the speech I wrote for the Farewell that got umm..4 votes? (Duh! I'm unpopular)
But I don't need votes to put anything in my blog. And I loved what I wrote, so here it is:

*Basically my system crashed.
 So the software problem persists.
 Please be patient.

Dad is asking me "What Next?" repetitively. And I'm as clueless as my sister. Oh No.
Back to the same old topic.I must wait until results.yet, that's not possible.Ahh!

I hope tomorrow is going to be Fun! Hmmm.. Garuda girls!
Spamming Karthik Karanth has been fun.
I think I need to do something different this summer.
Ideas:

  2. Sing
  3. Cook
  4. Jog
  5. Reduce facebook time
  6. Blog More

Summer :)

Shimla is the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. In 1864, Shimla was declared the summer capital of the British Raj in India. A popular tourist destination, Shimla is often referred to as the "Queen of Hills," a term coined by the British. Located in the north-west Himalayas at an average altitude of 2,205 metres (7,234 ft), the city of Shimla, draped in forests of pine, rhododendron, and oak, experiences pleasant summers and cold, snowy winters. The city is famous for its buildings styled in tudorbethan and neo-gothic architecture dating from the colonial era. Shimla is connected to the city of Kalka by one of the longest narrow gauge railway routes still operating in India, the Kalka-Shimla Railway. Shimla is approximately 115 km (71.4 miles) from Chandigarh, the nearest major city, and 365 km (226.8 miles) from New Delhi, the national capital. The city is named after the goddess Shyamala Devi, an incarnation of the Hindu Goddess Kali.

The Kalka-Shimla Railway is a 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) narrow gauge railway in North-West IndiaKalka to Shimla. It is known for breathtaking views of the hills and surrounding villages. travelling along a mostly mountainous route.

Located on the banks of the River Yamuna, Delhi has been known to be continuously inhabited since at least the 6th century BCE, though human habitation is believed to have existed since the second millennium BCE. Delhi is also widely believed to have been the site of Indraprastha, the legendary capital of the Pandavas during the times of the Mahabharata. Delhi re-emerged as a major political, cultural and commercial city along the trade routes between northwest India and the Gangetic plain after the rise of the Delhi sultanates. It is the site of many ancient and medieval monuments, archaeological sites and remains. In 1639, Mughal emperor Shahjahan built a new walled city in Delhi which served as the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1649 to 1857.
After the British East India Company had gained control of much of India during the 18th and 19th centuries, Calcutta became the capital both under Company rule and under the British Raj, until George V announced in 1911 that it was to move back to Delhi. A new capital city, New Delhi, was built to the south of the old city during the 1920s. When India gained independence from British rule in 1947, New Delhi was declared its capital and seat of government. As such, New Delhi houses important offices of the federal government, including the Parliament of India, as well as numerous national museums, monuments, and art galleries.
Owing to the migration of people from across the country, Delhi has grown to be a multicultural, cosmopolitan metropolis. Its rapid development and urbanisation, coupled with the relatively high average income of its population, has transformed Delhi into a major cultural, political, and commercial centre of India.

EVE FTW?

24 chaps and I'm done with some.
I'm feeling progressively sleepier with each chappu! (I make  it sound Cute. Not)
Kala is hated by none other than the CalmOne. And that makes it ironic.
It is essential that one understands that everybody else is only human after all.( I mean Everybody else)
It is rather wrong to put somebody (rather anybody) on a pedestal and expect them to play God. We  all are  homo sapiens and have flaws. Accepting People as they are is the key to peace of mind I think.

Read this:

Scientists recreate the Brain

BIRMINGHAM: Researchers have developed an artificial bit of human brain to help them study Alzheimer's and other diseases, a huge improvement over animal models.
Mike Coleman and his team from Aston University, Birmingham, have developed artificial brain tissue that responds to some chemicals like human brains do. Their findings were presented at the British Festival of Science in Birmingham.
According to Coleman, the new tissue is better than using dead brain cells from taken humans or lab rats. "One is dead and the other is different," he explained. "It's better to have a human-sourced platform that's alive."
How to make a brain
Earlier studies had only used one type of human brain cells - neurons. But neurons are just one component of a brain. For every one neuron, there are approximately seven 'astrocytes' - star like cells that provide nutrients to brain tissue.
Coleman's brain tissue is a culture of both neurons and astrocytes.
"Testing neurons on their own is like testing the performance of a Formula One driver without his support team," he said.
The cells, originally from a tumour, were 'reprogrammed' to stop multiplying. They then turned into neurons and astrocytes, which clump into balls of cells that can process information on a basic level.
Animal models do not mimic humans
"It forms networks where it communicates within itself and it also responds to chemical, mechanical and electrical 'questions'."
"This is what human brain tissue does," he added, making them an ideal platform to perform experiments that can't be done on real living human brains.
Kuldip Sidhu, director of the Stem Cell Lab at the University of New South Wales who was not involved in the research, agrees that co-cultures are the way forwards. "Animal models used to study human diseases do not mimic the true human physiology."
Being used to study Alzheimer's
Coleman hopes that their new model will help further research into many neurodegenerative diseases. Eric Hill, a member of the University's School of Life & Health Sciences has already started using the culture to look at the effects of Alzheimer's.
"Because the cells grow for such a long time we can see how the cells age and whether they naturally degenerate," Hill said.
"We can vary the conditions cells grow up in to see if this has an effect. Ultimately, we plan to insert genes we know are involved in Alzheimer's into the cells and see how the cells develop and communicate with each other," he said.

Wow! And astrocytes are Glial Cells if I'm not wrong.
"How to Make a Brain" sounds like a recipe (Ex. How to make Sweet corn Veg Soup!)
Apparently most researches in neurology concentrate on Autism or Alzheimer or some such disease (I can't blame them, it has become a common problem I suppose....)

Common cold erodes memory

Central nervous system infections such as the common cold could be linked to memory loss late in life, according to a new study.
"Our study suggests that virus-induced memory loss could accumulate over the lifetime of an individual and eventually lead to clinical cognitive memory deficits," said Charles Howe, a Mayo Clinic neuroscientist and an author of the study, which is published in the international journal Neurobiology of Disease.
The family of viruses known as picornaviruses are the most common infectious agents in humans, infecting more than one billion people worldwide each year.
Most people have two to three infections a year caused by enteroviruses (associated with respiratory and gastro-intestinal ailments) or rhinoviruses (associated with the common cold). Picornaviruses also cause encephalitis, meningitis, polio and hepatitis A.
Scientists at the Mayo Clinic studied the link between picornaviruses and memory loss by infecting mice and observing their spatial memory as they navigated a maze.
"The degree of memory impairment, which ranged from no discernible damage to complete devastation, was directly correlated to the number of dead brain cells in the hippocampus of the mouse's brain," according to the researchers.
"The degree of brain damage in humans infected with a picornavirus infection is not known, but the evidence from the mouse study suggests this is an area of research that should be explored further," they said.
Among children infected with enterovirus 71 in Asia, the virus has been seen to attack the brain, leading to conditions from lethargy to coma, said the researchers.
"Our findings suggest that picornavirus infections throughout the lifetime of an individual may chip away at the cognitive reserve, increasing the likelihood of detectable cognitive impairment as the individual ages," the authors wrote.
"We hypothesize that mild memory and cognitive impairments of unknown etiology may, in fact, be due to accumulative loss of hippocampus function caused by repeated infection with common and widespread neurovirulent picornaviruses."

Omg! Who knew? Btw I found something even better, I'll put it up next time....
I guess I gotto go back to EVE.

Adieu,You Baboon

Blogging when there's less than 2 hours for your English preparatory isn't always the best option, Is it?

I wanted to title this as "A Day In the Life of AV( I mean: Short and Sleep Deprived)

I don't wish to reveal who it is. A leetle bit of suspense won't kill anyone.Yesterday my eyes were red and bright( Dad asked me if I had been crying(LOL) but no, twas the effect of reading a highly inspiring journal of a certain Caffeine addicted person ( Or I guess it was because I was staring at a black background with white font for a LONG time.))

Life has so much to do. I'm like a dumb dodo.

She wrote a letter to herself and the contents Amazed me. Such determination and dedication. And between those repeated references to sleep deprivation and Coffee drinking, I saw a Genius.
Who got there by LUCK.Freaking true, She accepts it herself.

  • Awesome marks all the time (She says she sleeps through most of them though)
  • Admission to TheGreatestCollegeOfAllTimes( That has awarded "Nada" Honorary Degrees)
  • A chance to work at The Agency (I mean, the IAEA. Only the cool people call it The Agency, I have NO right to do so :P)
  • Tour almost all over Europe teaching High school kids physics. (In the sense, see the Beauty of Europe, while being funded by the aforesaid College)
  • Study Photography (A study of The History Of American Photography)
  • NEVER (Ever) runs out of luck
I don't think I wasted anytime.I Made up for it anyway. And it was a really good read. My My.

I also realized that what I realized after getting red eyes is exactly what the people who Really Care about me have been telling me all my life.

Auf Wiedersehen
